When someone suffers a significant injury, the resulting pain can make it difficult to make good decisions. For those living in the area, help is available at Kent Chiropractic. Do not delay in getting help for alleviation of the pain.

The first office visit will be devoted to an analysis and assessment of the injury. A discussion and your description of how you feel is important. Next a physical exam is done.

The area of concern is examined and the place where the pain originates is identified. Range-of-motion, the way you walk and your reflexes are usually tested. In many cases an x-ray will help to make a thorough assessment.

One major facet of care is the manual adjustment. When appropriate, the chiropractor will set up a schedule for office appointments to perform these gentle adjustments. A mild exercise routine may be added to use at home between appointments.

Adjustments to the spine can affect and improve other parts of the human body. The spinal nerve roots are located along the spinal column. When one or more of these delicate nerves are compacted by an injury, serious pain can ensue.

A rear-end collision can cause a whiplash injury to the neck. This makes it painful and often impossible to turn the head from side-to-side. The automobile can be traveling at a low rate of speed and still cause such an injury.

Adjustments to the seven cervical vertebrae which are located just below the head are the traditional care for such an injury. Sometimes a cervical collar is worn for a brief period of time. This stabilizes the head.

An injury to the neck or spine should not usually require extended bed rest. Your chiropractor will advise you on how much rest is required. Your office visits for manual adjustments can alleviate the pain you are suffering. After a time, you may be returning to work and the recreational activities enjoyed before the accident occurred.
