There are many dangers involved with sleep apnea side effects and I am going to discuss them. First over 18 million Americans struggle with some form of sleep apnea. The side effects that come along with it can be very dangerous. Some of these side effects can even be life threatening if they are left untreated. A big factor for many people with sleep apnea is obesity. Over 50% of people who suffer from sleep apnea are obese. It is important to get this sleep disorder treated before the side effects become dangerous.

When the airway is blocked duh to sleep apnea, you stop breathing. When breathing stops regularly you are not getting enough oxygen into your body. When oxygen levels drop many bad side effects come with it. This is just one reason to treat sleep apnea as soon as possible.

One of the biggest causes of some of these nasty side effects is stress and the hormones that come with it. The lack of sleep and irregular sleeping patterns puts stress on the body. The hormone most associated with stress is Cortisol and this is a major cause of weight gain. Stress can cause major problems with health, including heart issues.
