With the growing awareness of the side effects of chemicals that are in drugs, so many people are fast replacing their preferences with healthy herbs. Although some of these herbs are still not unknown, there are still many known areas whose benefits have not been fully explored. It is man's interest to keep on identifying these natural plants and seek ways by which they can help better lives. Some of the already researched ones include mint, basil, celery, dandelion, garlic, oregano, rosemary herb, spearmint and tarragon.

Almost everyone agrees that basil herb is the most important because it helps them cure a lot of diseases. The herb has been in use since ancient times and today, it still provides the needed phyto-nutrients for man's upkeep. Although it is quite expensive, many people are still eager to buy it. It grows as several varieties such as Asian basil, lemon basil, Thai basil and sweet basil.

If you are looking for a herb that can combat bacterial infection and inflammation, it is advisable to use the basil herb. This is because it contains essential oils like citral, eugenol and citronellol. Apart from the essential oils, it has polyphenolic flavonoids such as orientin and vicenin. These chemical compounds combine efforts to make man live healthily.

Some of the most important contents in basil herb include beta-carotene, vitamin A, lutein, zea-xanthin and cryptoxanthin. The concentration of these compounds in the basil herb is higher than in most other leaves. These compounds are known for fighting aging.

The scientific name of the celery herb is Apium Graveolens and the plant grows well on soil that is rich in nutrients and water. The benefits of celery herb cannot be overemphasized. More so, it has a very important flavonoid known as lutin. Lutin does the work of preventing cancer and protecting the immune system. Dandelion is very important and there are several benefits to enjoy from the tip of the stem to the roots. The roots have important antioxidants that are even absent in other plants. Some other names for dandelion herb include blowball, lion's tooth, monk's head, Irish daisy and priest's crown. The scientific name for the plant is Taraxacum Officinale.

Garlic is appreciated for its medicinal and culinary properties. In medicine, it is used in providing protection against coronary artery disease, infection and cancer. Garlic also prevents the incidence of stomach cancer.

Other healthy herbs include Rosemary Tarragon herb, sage, savory, peppermint and sweet marjoram. Sweet marjoram is also used in cooking delicious meals. It also contains Vitamin A and zeaxanthin.
