Researchers have studied illnesses that affect vision and they have come up with dietary ways for "how to improve your eyesight". Depending on the condition of your eyesight, you can adopt certain diet to help improve your eyesight. But often times you can actually get more benefit with your diet especially when you strictly follow the routine. Totally losing your vision is the worse thing that could happen. To avoid this you must seriously consider the consequences and follow a healthy diet.

Cataracts:

Eating a healthy diet can help prevent or slow down the development of age-related cataracts. Unfortunately, they cannot prevent cataracts that result from injuries to the eye or congenital cataracts but they may still help slow down the actual progression of those versions of cataracts.

Certain nutrients help with eye health in general and help slow down diseases of the eye. Vitamin C and E, Lutein, zeaxanthin can help improve your eye.

* As much as possible eat fruits and vegetables that are color red, orange and bright yellow. * For vitamin C nutrition eat a lot of strawberries, grapefruits or oranges. * When cooking use red onions instead of yellow onions. It is because red onions are rich in quercetin- an antioxidant that helps prevent cataracts. * Oils and nuts can also help Vitamin E absorption: Examples are peanuts, safflower oils and almonds. * You can also eat leafy, dark vegetables like spinach and kale to increase your intake of lutein and zeaxanthin.

Aging That is related to Macular Degeneration:

ARMD, also known as age-related macular generation has a lot to do with your age It a diseased in the eye, particularly in the macula lutea cells. When you're aging your cells becomes weak and vulnerable to certain disease. The patient suffers from blurry vision and may result to blindness.

A diet rich in vegetables and fruits can help prevent the development of Glaucoma:

* To avoid insulin increase, minimize or control sugar intake. Poor eye sight is common amongst diabetic patients. * Eat spinach, kale, collard greens, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, or raw egg yolks. They all are rich in lutein, carotenoids and zeaxanthin. Cooked egg has lesser nutritional value compared to raw. * Eating fish regularly can also help reduce the risk of Glaucoma. The key here is that the Omega-3 oil is animal based rather than synthetically made in a laboratory.

Doctors recommend certain dietary measures to help prevent or slow down the disease:

* Have a healthy dose of multi vitamins daily to keep your eye sight sharp. * Regularly have Bilberry jam with your toast: Bilberries are the European version of the blueberry. These berries contain anthocyanocide compounds that protect the retina against macular degeneration. There are also supplements that are derived from bilberries that you can avail. * Mix blueberries and yogurt in a cup daily: Blueberries are naturally rich in antioxidant that drives away free radicals in your cell. * Take Omega-3 supplements that are from Krill fish or eat fish every now and then.

Through our senses we experience different things in life. Through healthy diet and eating the right food we can protect our eye sight. Healthy foods is anywhere and all you have to do is shop for them. You can also avail food supplements in any grocery or drug stores.

But some people are limited or cannot eat certain foods because of their allergies. If allergies are an issue you should consult your doctor for alternatives. In case that your disease if far beyond repair through a healthy diet consult a doctor if they can offer surgical means to get rid of your disease.

If you have noticed that your vision is not strong as it used to be, seek the advice of your eye doctors. If possible do a research yourself so that you can assess your doctor in answering questions. If in case that you are feel that something is wrong with your vision you might want to read articles online on how to prevent it the natural way. But if the condition is worse, that healthy eating will not treat it, you might ask your doctor to perform surgical operation and at the same time eat healthy food.
